هذا ما شعرت به في ليلتي الاولى على متن "رينبو وارير". سفينة غرينبيس ورمزها بامتياز. غرف الطاقم والضيوف، وانا من هؤلاء، في بطن السفينة. ورينبو العزيزة راسية بدعة في مرفأ راشد، في دبي، قرب الرصيف، لا يمسها الا البحر من جهة، ودولاب مطاطي هائل من الجهة الاخرى، ليحول دونها ودون الباطون، لئلا تخدشها اليابسة.

I remember when Tele Liban used to start boradcasting at 6.00 pm, and closed at midnight. everyday at six, I and my brother would salute the fluttering flag they show, with the Lebanese anthem "Koullouna Lil Watan", and do the children's version of a military march...ie a fun march.

I grew up to loving my country. Then came the first war...
Born in 1976, during the 2 years war that was some kind of prelude to the mayhem to come. I grew up in a calm neighborhood south of Beirut, Khaldeh, a town on the coastline...in a liberal non religious family.

أمسى موضوع مجاهرة، ليس فقط على مستوى السياسيين المتفاخرين تارة بسياسة الغموض وطورا بالتطور الكاذب لما سمي بالنووي السلمي، بل ايضا على مستوى شعبي شائع.

Yeah, that's one of those spleen-full days...rather weeks.
I need a long holiday, away from work stress, tension and rush.
Slow down a little...take a couple of days off, week days, and go snowboarding in Faraya...aaaarrrrrgh...

That seems nothing but a dream today.

So I listen to Metallica on my laptop, while working throu emails, documents, contacts, plannings, interviews, and all. Takes me back to my early, younger days, when Iu was wild and explosive and loud.

صغيرة جدا مالطا ومسطحة ايضا. يُحدِقُ بها البحر فتكاد لا تلحظها من الطائرة لكنها تنبري امامك فجأة بوضوح شديد. لصغرها بامكانك ان ترسِّم حدودها بنظرك. في البداية تخالها قرية شاسعة. فمنازلها لا تعلو فوق طابقين او ثلاثة وكلها بلون الطين حيث انها مبنيه بالحجر او ملبسة به.
